Every Disney+ Original Show and Movie So Far

Disney is hopping on the streaming train in a few months with Disney+. The streaming service will have fan-favorite movies and shows like Netflix, along with original content. As of now, this everything coming to the new service.

Day One (Nov. 12)

The Mandalorian

Jon Favreau (Lion King, Iron Man) is creating the first live-action show in the Star Wars universe. Following a bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones). It takes place between the fall of the Empire and the upcoming First Order, the original and current trilogies of films.

Favreau produces and writes the series with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6, Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Predator, Rocky), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Castlevania, Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2), Werner Herzog (Metalocalypse, Jack Reacher), and Nick Nolte (Gracepoint) will also star.

Forky Asks a Question

The Toy Story 4 character Forky is getting his own show. Watch the trash obsessed character answer questions in 10 shorts like “what is love?”

Forky is played by Arrested Development star Tony Hale.

SparkShorts

Pixar will deliver a series of short films to find new techniques in storytelling and find new, lesser-known storytellers to give them a voice. Every project is up on Pixar’s YouTube channel.

Marvel’s Hero Project

This reality show will look at how people are making a positive change in their communities. Marvel will celebrate these young people are making as if they are real superheroes.

High School Musical: The Musical

Taking place at East High, the same school from the original films, a group of students get ready for a major production, High School Musical.

Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars, Frozen) is back at producing the reality series where she gathers classmates who once worked on a high school musical to reenact their roles from 20 years ago. The cast will get help from some top-notch people from Broadway to recreate these productions.

Untitled Walt Disney Imagineering Documentary Series

Despite no official title, this launch documentary series will take a behind the scenes look at the history of Walt Disney Imagineering. Including interviews and brand new footage of Disney’s various parks.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Follow Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) to examine basic things like ice cream or clothing to see it through his eyes. He will be going through things he is passionate about like shoes or learning something new like tattoos.

Lady and the Tramp

A reboot of 1955 classic with a mix of live-action and CGI to take this story into the modern world.

The movie will be directed by Charlie Bean (Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Laboratory) along with writers Andrew Bujalski (Support the Girls) and Kari Granlund (Troubleshooters). Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok) plays Lady, Sam Elliot (A Star Is Born) as Trusty, Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) as Tramp, and Janelle Monae (Hidden Figures) as Peg.

Year One

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Falcon AKA the new Captain America (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) join forces despite their long lingering differences to fight together against threatening forces. Civil War villain Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) is back with a comic book-inspired look to face against the duo.

According to Variety, Malcolm Spellman (Empire) will pen the series along with a report from The Wrap that John Wick writer Derek Kolstad will join Spellman. According to Deadline, Handmaid’s Tale director Kari Skogland will direct all six episodes.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is aiming for a Fall 2020 release window.

Marvel’s 616

A documentary series that will take a look at Marvel Comics history along with its impact on the real world.

Lamp Life

A prequel to show the whereabouts of Bo Peep (Annie Potts). The character appeared in Toy Story 4 but was missing in the third entry. The series will take a look at the toy’s adventures between the second and fourth film.

Monsters at Work

Expanding upon the Monsters Inc. universe with this new animated show. Taking place six months after the first film, Tylor Tuskmon (Ben Feldman) is a mechanic for Monsters Inc. facilities department and wishes to work his way to the Laugh Floor.

Returning creatures Mike(Billy Crystal), Sully (John Goodman), Yeti (John Ratzenberger), Roz (Bob Peterson), and Celia (Jennifer Tilly). Joining Feldman (Mad Men) as a newcomer to this world comes Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Henry Winkler (Barry), Lucas Neff (Fear Inc.), Alanna Ubach (Coco), and Stephen Stanton (Star Wars Resistance).

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

The series continues for its seventh season to give fans 12 more episodes. The last season aired March 7, 2014.

Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2

The highly anticipated sequel to the 2013 animated hit gets a documentary series. The show will give insight on the making for Frozen 2 which is set to hit theaters Nov. 22.

The first movie made $1.2 billion off of a $150 million budget.

Be Our Chef

Angela Kinsey (The Office) will host this reality cooking competition. Kinsey will bring in a diverse group of families to Walt Disney World to cook up Disney inspired meals. Each episode pits two families in a particular theme to mix with their own traditions. Finalists will use everything from previous challenges to make a dish that incorporates both their family culture and a Disney inspired twist.

Cinema Relics: Iconic Art of the Movies (Working Title)

An eight-episode series where a movie’s costumes and props will get analyzed. The show will take a look at how things are made, how actors utilize those tools and the collectors who now own those objects or outfits.

Movies that will get attention include Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Mary Poppins, The Muppet Movie, Tron, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Diary of a Female President

Told through her diary, a young Cuban-American girl navigates through life to become the President of the United States.

Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Emily Gipson (I Can and I Will), and Ilana Peña (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) will run and produce the show.

Magic of Animal Kingdom

A reality show following biologists, animal-care experts, and veterinarians at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and Epcot’s SeaBase aquarium.

(Re)Connect

Families with issues like overworking parents, technology addicted children, or secrets that drive everyone apart will have to face their issues head-on in this new reality series. They will disconnect from devices and other outside influences to fix the problem and reconnect.

Rogue Trip

A travel show following journalist Bob Woodruff and his son Mack as they take a trip to various places that tourist are least likely to visit.

Shop Class (Working Title)

A panel of experts rates various inventions from a group of students. This competition show will have a science and mechanical focus.

Noelle

Nick Kringle (Bill Hader) is on his way to becoming Santa Clause. Days before Christmas, he disappears. Now it is up to his sister Noelle (Anna Kendrick) to find him to save the holiday.

Other stars for this original Christmas movie includes Kingsley Ben-Adir (World War Z), Billy Eichner (The Lion King), Julie Hagerty (Airplane!), and Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment).

Phineas and Ferb Movie (No Official Title)

Phineas (Vincent Martella), Ferb (Thomas Brodie-Sangster), and Perry the Platypus (Dee Bradley Baker) must go across the galaxy to save Candace (Ashley Tisdale), Phineas, and Ferb’s older sister.

Stargirl

Based on the novel of the same name, Leo Borlock (Graham Verchere), a teenager trying to keep to his own business at school meets a new girl at school named Stargirl (Grace VanderWaal) who shakes things up around campus.

The movie will be directed by Julia Hart (Fast ColorMiss Stevens). The writers include Kristin Hahn (Dumplin’), Jordan Horowitz (Fast Color, Miss Stevens), and Jerry Spinelli, the author of the book.

Timmy Failure

This movie adapts from the novel Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made by Stephen Pastis. The adaption will follow an 11-year-old boy named Timmy who thinks he is a world-class detective alongside his partner, an imaginary polar bear.

Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, Christopher Robin) is set to direct with Stephen Pastis as the writer.

Togo

Based on a true story, this film will follow an Alaskan man Leonhard Seppala (Willem Dafoe) and his sled dog Togo are tasked to find a diphtheria antitoxin to save his village.

Ericson Core (Point Break) will sit in the director’s chair along with Tom Flynn (Gifted)to pen the script.

Year Two

WandaVision

Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) deals with her loss of Vision (Paul Bettany). He will be involved in some way, presumably in a dream state or flashbacks.

The series is setting itself as a sitcom with a lot of 50s influences based on the marketing.

Teyonah Parris (Empire) will play as an adult Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel. Her involvement is unknown as of now.

The aftermath of this series will connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, set for a May 2021 release, which will see Wanda team up with Doctor Strange and whatever threat he ends up facing in the MCU’s first horror film.

WandaVision will come out spring 2021, sometime before the sequel to Doctor Strange.

Loki

The time heist in Avengers: Endgame had its bumps, like letting the evil 2012 Loki (Tom Hiddleston) escape with the Tesseract. The series will follow the God of Mischief after those events.

Loki comes out sometime in spring 2021.

Marvel’s What If…?

This animated anthology series will take a story or character we have seen in one of the 23 MCU entries and add a twist in some capacity to see what happens in that alternate universe. Many current and past cast members will come in for their roles with Jeffery Wright (Westworld) as The Watcher who will be the host of the show. The full cast is listed below:

Hawkeye 

After Endgame, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) decides to spend some quality time with his family. He teaches Kate Bishop, who will take ahold her own bow and arrow.

Hawkeye is shooting for a fall 2021 release.

Untitled Cassian Andor Series

Rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and his droid companion K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) go on missions and adventures after the events of Rogue One.

Stephen Schiff (The Americans) will be the showrunner and an executive producer.

An animal-centered documentary series that follows conservationists and the work that they do.

Ink & Paint

Based on the book of the same name, this documentary series will follow unsung women who worked on various animated films from Disney.

Moon Knight

Marvel’s dark and gritty rich superhero similar to DC’s Batman gets his first live-action adaption on the small screen. He is has gone through many career paths from a marine, boxer, and finally to a CIA operative. Once he is left for dead in Egypt, he awakens from an ancient Egyptian entity who gives him powers. He is a hero who deals with his multiple personality disorder while battling forces of evil.

Ms. Marvel

Kamala Kahn is a Pakastani-American trying to live her life while having superpowers. Her morphing abilities give her a lot of creativity when fighting crime.

Showrunner and writer by Bisha K. Ali (Sex Education) will set sail one of the most diverse characters to enter the MCU.

Release date TBA.

She-Hulk

Mark Ruffalo will not be alone as the only Hulk. She-Hulk, is usually his cousin who obtains the angry green superpowers after an emergency blood transfusion with Bruce Banner. She is a known lawyer who has a sense of humor, often breaking the fourth wall in the style of Deadpool.

Untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

Ewan McGregor returns as the iconic Jedi for this show. Not much is known but the time of place is set between Solo: A Star Wars Story, Episode III, and Episode IV. Head of the classic franchise Kathleen Kennedy announced the scripts are done and filming will begin sometime next year.

Chip ‘n’ Dale

The chipmunk duo return for a short series of 39 seven-minute episodes. The series will maintain the “non-verbal, classic style comedy.” The series is headed by newer talent with Jean Cayrol as the director and produced by Marc Du Pontavice from Floopaloo, Where Are You?

Short Circuit

A series where anyone at Walt Disney Animation Studios can pitch any idea they desire. So far the revealed short films will include Jing Hua (Flower in the Mirror, conceived by Disney technical director Jerry Huynh, the pre-teen inspired short Just a Thought from animator Brian Menz, and Exchange Student from storyboard artist Natalie Nourigat.

Short Circuit is set for a spring 2020 release date.
